To complete this qualification via Blended Learning, please add a Workshop (under the 'Blended Learning' tab) to your cart prior to checkout.

The Focus Awards Level 3 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Personal Training (RQF) aims to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills, and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client.

Learner Entry Requirements

Prior to enrolling on the Level 3 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Personal Training, learners must have the necessary underpinning knowledge at Level 2. Therefore, learners must have already achieved a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing in Gym, or equivalent. The qualification requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading
and writing) and application of number involved, and learners should have basic skills in communication and application of number at Levels 2 and 3 respectively

Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged at least 16 to undertake this qualification.

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE

Learners must complete all 6 mandatory units to achieve a total of 24 credits.  The qualification will be delivered using a combination of online study and in-person workshops.  Assessments can be conducted in-person or via video submission.

We don't do exams. To facilitate student learning and understanding, and ensure learners get the most from their qualification, we do not use automated or self marking exams.  Learners will compile and submit a portfolio before receiving individualised feedback.

UK STANDARDS

This qualification is accredited by Focus Awards, regulated by Ofqual, and endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). There are no additional requirements for learners wishing to use this qualification in the UK.

All due care has been taken to map this qualification to the highest global standards outlined in the 2020 Global Standards However, due to ever-changing standards in countries, additional local requirements may exist in some countries.  Exercise professionals may also be interested in the ICREPs Global Portability Matrix, showing how ICREPs members registration levels are internationally portable.

If in doubt, we recommend contacting your country's register and verifying additional requirements or the process of portability with them directly.  Like ICREPs, we strive to ensure registered exercise professionals are qualified to practice internationally based on the global recognition of standards for their defined exercise professional roles.
